Welcome to the first full week in December...as @Callum_Thomas notes this is not usually a negative month for investors with for the S&P 500 over the last couple of generations the joint highest proportional positive returns AND the lowest standard deviation of returns:


So happy times...and the same for the British Pound...amazing what a bit of positive Brexit chat and low expectations can do:

Despite some of the recent progress on the overall Brexit question there is plenty of scope for disappointment as shown by this polling in today’s Mail on Sunday (h/t @MSmithsonPB):


And the same for the UK government as per the most recent polling from the same source:
LAB: 45% (+1)
CON: 37% (-1)
LDEM: 6% (-1)
UKIP: 4% (-)
GRN: 1% (-)

Meanwhile in the US, tax reform has occurred as written up at length here...so what could possibly go wrong?  "Parts were being rewritten by hand hours before the vote...no time to decipher scribbles spread over nearly 500 pages of legislation"...
